Burmese Offering Urn
Description: Very large late 19th century Burmese offering vessel with a thick and truly beautiful orange/red lacquer with a pleasing Japanese Negoro effect where the piece has been handled for decades in the religious practice of carrying food inside them to monasteries and shrines. Hongmu Sculpture Qing Dynasty
Description: Wonderful, finely carved Hongmu sculpture of Cao Guojiu (patron saint of actors, holding a pair of clappers and dressed in the robes of an official ). This sculpture is dynamic and perfectly proportioned and feels great in the hand. Richly stained and waxed, it stands “14 inches tall and is resting (permanently) on a slice of natural cork.

18th century Guanyin Sculpture
Description: Lovely small Guanyin (DeHua) of very thick, hard porcelain with inside cracks and crystal clear glaze over cream/white glaze. The main source of fuel in the Dehua region is red and black pine which carpets the hillsides. The piece glows “shrimp” pink when held to strong light.
